Pete Clarke Announces For Mayor

Orlando - Two term Orange County Commissioner, Pete Clarke, announced he will enter the race for Orange County Mayor.

“We are at a pivotal moment in our county’s history that will define our quality of life decades into the future.” Clarke said. “Orange County will be faced with choices requiring someone with the background and experiences I possess. These choices will bring the opportunity for extraordinary rewards for our vibrant, diverse community. That’s why I am running. Moments such as these are few and far between-- to strengthen and diversify our economy, add high paying jobs, and create an environment for the next generations to thrive. My experience serving in and for our community over the years places me in the unique position to truly lead Orange County through the hard choices we will face.” As your mayor, I will lead with the wisdom and understanding gained through decades of partnerships with the private sector, community resources and all levels of government. These skills and insights will be critical as we meet the needs of all of our current and future citizens. My proactive approach to addressing the continually evolving challenges in Orange County is evidenced by my record as a champion of our entire community.

Never afraid of a challenge and always driven to do the right thing for the right reasons, Clarke came to the commission in 2012, after beating a well funded opponent.
